Meet Shilan, top performing Account Manager here at DMC Atlanta and resident firecracker! With a spirit that radiates and energy that is nothing short of contagious, Shilan continues to make strides in our company’s Management Training Program and is well on her way to achieving her next goal: Assistant Management.

We sat down with this go-getter in an effort to learn more about who Shilan is and what motivates her at work!

Alright, Shilan, give us your E! True Hollywood story!

Awesome! I was born in Iran and was raised there by my amazing parents and alongside my younger brother. At 18 I moved to China and lived there for 8 years! I attended undergrad there, and even opened, with my friends, two language schools! I moved to the US 3 ½ years ago to attend Auburn University and pursue my Masters! When I graduated with my MBA in Management and Operations, I was eager to get hands-on experience in business management.

How did you find DMC Atlanta?

I found the company online through ZipRecruiter and was immediately intrigued by the Management Training opportunity. I consider myself an entrepreneur and liked the fact that I could advance in the company based on my work ethic and merit.

Who influences & motivates you?

First, my parents! They’re both athletes, so they taught me to go after I want and work hard for it. I’m fortunate, too, to have a great relationship with my brother as well, even though he’s currently across the world in China! My last source of influence is my grandfather, who’s a small business owner back in Iran. I’ve always looked up to him and admired his drive. My motivation at work comes from them, as well as speakers/entrepreneurs like Tony Robbins, Tai Lopez, Gary Vaynerchuk, and Brian Tracy.

What do you do when you’re not in the office setting the pace for our client?

I LOVE yoga and have a weekly yoga session with our CEO, Adam Dorfman. When I’m not at work I’m working out, stay healthy, reading, and working on being more organized and disciplined which will help me at work!

What advice do you have for someone starting at DMC Atlanta?

Things might not come easily to you at first, but that just means you have to work harder at it. It took me close to a month to become comfortable working with customers and understanding different sales techniques, but I didn’t give up on myself just because I didn’t pick up as quick as I thought I should. For the last 9 months, I’ve been one of our client's top representatives across the nation and wouldn’t have had that opportunity had I not been willing to put in the time!

What is your favorite aspect of working at DMC Atlanta?

I LOVE the traveling, the conferences, and my coworkers. I’ve been so fortunate to travel to Miami with work, this week Los Angeles and in 2 months, Dallas! I love the camaraderie and friendly competition we have and think that in return, I help the team raise our standards of excellence!

What are your goals within the company?

I look to be promoted to an Assistant Management position by the beginning of June and helping our client expand into a new market before the holidays! Seeing as I speak 5 languages - Farsi, Mandarin, Turkish, Spanish, and English - I want to take DMC Atlanta global! Long term I want to be the female, Persian Tony Robbins!

With as much excitement and enthusiasm as you bring to the table, we are confident that you will accomplish all this and more, Shilan. Keep up the incredible work and stay connected on LinkedIn as we follow Shilan’s growth to Assistant Management!
