Holding The Pen To His Story

Life for Jacob, Senior Account Manager at DMC Atlanta, has always been a story. Whether he was exploring the outdoors with his younger 5 siblings, building a lending library in Nicaragua, or starting an orphanage with his aunt uncle in the Philippines, his life has been a visual collection of what a good person working hard looks like. This is his story.

Born in Kansas City and raised in Atlanta, Jacob grew up in a very busy household with 6 children, the youngest who was born when he was 15! As an active, outgoing child, he grew up with a soccer ball at his feet and younger brother or sister at his side. From 4-19, being an athlete and a great role model consumed in.

After graduating from high school with a dream of seeing the world, Jacob moved to Nicaragua for a year and traveled across the entire country. Working in medical and dental clinics exposed him to the blessings we have in a first world country and humbled him to the things we take for granted having in America. When he found out the village he was staying didn't have a library, Jacob and the team he was with, Project Hope, took it among themselves to start one. Jacob learned to speak Spanish fluently and grew to love the country and it's people dearly.

Upon returning home, Jacob started at the Univesity of North Georgia and naturally chose his studies in International Business and Spanish. To support himself, he worked as a Team Leader in a call center, and successfully put himself through school for the next 3 years!

After his time at North Georgia, Jacob desired to travel and serve others again, so he left his job and spend the next year traveling to 14 different countries, 23 states, and 11 different national parks. Needless to say, it was a life-changing experience that inadvertently led Jacob to our team here at DMC Atlanta.

After his world travels, Jacobs pursued his love for photography by working at a portrait studio. He spent the next years as a studio manager, traveling from store to store and helping the lowest performing boost operations. When he had finally reached the furthest he could go in his company in 4 years, he knew it was time to find an organization with more growth potential.

Queue DMC Atlanta's entrance back in November 2017 and now 9 months down the road, we think it's safe to say that Jacob's story with us is now just getting started. Moving from Tulsa to Atlanta for our company's Management Training Program, Jacob's commitment to his professional growth is next to none. With goals of helping our company expand westward later this summer and himself moving into a management position by the end of 2018, Jacob has the pen to write his own story....and we can't wait to read it.
